Guess what! You are not alone!! WE are not alone!
Did you know that approximately one in three women suffer from a pelvic floor disorder at some point in time during their lives?
Ugh! Slight. Bladder. Leakage. Sounds awful doesn't it!
Yep, it definitely sounds to me like something that isn't supposed to happen. And the good news is, it doesn't have to!
There are things you can do to help improve the muscles of your pelvic floor, and recently there has been the introduction of a new product into Australia, that is designed to help!
Laselle Kegel Exercisers, by Intimina!
According to the brochure, Laselle Kegel Exercisers help you to:
- Prevent & overcome incontinence
- Prepare & strengthen for a healthy pregnancy
- Recover & restore pelvic strength and tone after childbirth
- Enhance sensation for both partners during intimacy.
I was sent the 28g/1oz Light Resistance Exerciser to try, and I have to say, I'm impressed!
You could be forgiven for thinking it would be uncomfortable to use, but it's actually not! It's feels basically the same as wearing a tampon! The only difference is the Exerciser has a little inner ball that rolls around inside, which feels a little unusual at first, as I'm not used to rattling around 'down there!' (Insert Kath and Kim here...."Oh it's noice isn't it, yes it's unuuusual!"). But it's not at all irritating, and after a while you don't even really notice it!
Once you've popped it in (for want of a better word), you then do the Keegel exercises..... contracting, holding and relaxing your pelvic floor. But to be honest, even when I wasn't doing the exercises, I could still feel it working. Just the simple act of holding the Exerciser in place worked my pelvic muscles to the point, that after a short while, I could feel 'that region' getting tired. At that time I either went and took it out, or it almost popped out of its own accord! (I know, too much information, right? Yes. For me, it just brings to mind certain girlie bars......but hey, we won't go there)!
Anyway, the wonderful people at Intimina have offered to give a FREE Lasselle Kegel Exerciser to FIVE of my lucky readers!
If you have been suffering with weak pelvic muscles, then this is the perfect giveaway for you!
Due to the 'sensitive' nature of this issue, I fully understand that a lot of you may not want to announce publicly that you need this product! So this is how it's going to work. If you would like to enter this competition, just go to my 'Contact' page and send me an email including your name and email address, so that I can contact you back if you are one of the lucky five. That's it! Nice and private!
So get to it!
If you have any friends or family, or know of anyone that could use this great product, send them the link and get them to pop on over! A few seconds to send an email is all that's required to be in the running.
Terms and Conditions
- Competition is open to Australian residents only.
- One entry per person.
- Competition closes Tuesday 7th August, at 11.59pm.
- The five winners will be chosen at random and contacted privately via email. Each winner then has 48 hours to contact me before a new winner will be chosen.
Good luck!!
I have not been compensated for this post. I was sent the product to sample and review, and all opinions expressed are my own.
I love the way this company has gotten so many bloggers to talk about this product. Wonderful to see such a sensitive yet common issue out in the public arena.
ReplyDeleteI agree Rhianna! It effects so many people, so it's nice to let them know they're not alone!
DeleteI am not entering and just commenting but I think it's wonderful that there are products like this out there. I have heard great things about this one. Rachel x
ReplyDeleteMe too Rachel. Hopefully other's will try it and find it helpful!
DeleteVery well put on a too hush hush subject :) Thanks for your lovely comment on my sugarbird blog. Hope you are not too overwhelmed with all of your creativity!!
ReplyDeleteI'm always overwhelmed Karen! lol
DeleteI always try to do waaay to many things at once :)
Not ashamed to admit this at all! Honestly, the coughing and sneezing that came with the flu ten days ago has not helped at all. :)
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity - is this something you can leave in all day? Or just for a specified period during the day?
I used the EPI-NO for my last four pregnancies/deliveries and just thought it the best device ever so am intrigued as to how this compares.
Ronnie xo
p.s. Thanks for all your sweet comments on my blog in the last couple of weeks. I'm finally back on board, having been wiped out by the flu quite badly.
Oh I can imagine how tough the flu would have been on the pelvic region Ronnie!!
DeleteI don't think you would want to leave it in all day, but the more you wear it and do the exercises, the better the results.
I'm not sure how it would compare to the EPI-NO, sorry, as I have never used that device. You could always email the company! They would be able to tell you for sure!
PS Glad you're feeling better :)
This campaign has been very effective because I'd never heard of them till now. I think they are an excellent idea. 3 years ago after my last child all I could find to help was group classes - very difficult to get to with small children.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame these weren't around then! Group classes would have been a bit motivating though, wouldn't they? I have trouble making myself do the exercises sometimes!
DeleteGood on you for b.ogging about it. It's a very brave thing to do :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jess! I was a bit worried about how it would be received, but I'm happy now! :)
DeleteWell written piece that dealt well with the subject. I have worked for a few years on aged care gyne wards - believe me, we need to do the work now!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks BossyMum! I'm hearing you!!!
DeleteI've already won one (so don't add me in the giveaway) but I haven't used it yet - Ewww. I just feel werid about it. Perhaps I'll pluck up the courage eventually!
ReplyDeleteCome on Pen! Give it a go! :)
DeleteVery well written article! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteOh, man. I thought it was just me with the weakest bladder on earth!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you've written about it, Tracey.
Ha ha, thanks Grace!
DeleteSuch a great post!! Not afraid to say that the old bladder is getting weaker as I get older! So not fair!! Such a good idea to use these and to get people talking about it!
ReplyDeletexx
I know, it's not fair is it? Hard to grow old gracefully, without some tools to help along the way :)
