365 Days Of Grateful - Day 90.

Although Easter morning usually starts off a bit earlier than I'd like it to, you can't help but love it.

The boys excitement is contagious!

They can't wait to see what the Easter Bunny has left for them, and they hunt high and low.

Such fun, seeing the smiles on their faces.

So today I'm grateful for the joy Easter brings.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 89.

Today was a training day for my new business, It Works!

It was so much fun, and really worth making the effort to go over Easter.

I learnt a heap, and it's really inspired me!

Not that I wasn't inspired before, I don't mean, but inspired me even more.

So today I'm grateful for an awesome training day.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 88.

Today my youngest and I set off to a friends house for a spot of lunch and to the kids surprise, a mini Easter egg hunt.

(My eldest has a bit of the sniffles so he was happy staying at home with Dad to watch the car racing.)

Three of the kids there, including my little man, are best friends at school.

Along with one sibling, they played and played, having so much fun together, and enabling us Mum's to have a lovely cuppa and a chat.

It was a great way to spend a Good Friday.

So today I'm grateful for friends and a mini Easter egg hunt.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 87.

Yay! Today is the last day of term one!

I'm so looking forward to these school holidays.

It is the first year of both of my boys being at school, and to be honest, I miss them!

I'm looking forward to spending some time with them, as well as not having the usual time restraints and running around.

So today I'm grateful for the start of the school holidays.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 86.

At the end of last week, my youngest son won an award at school.

His first award!

He was voted by his peers as being very helpful in the classroom to everyone.

I'm so proud!

Anyway, today he and all the other award winners got to go to a special park and have a play during school hours.

I went along as well to help out, and all the children had such a ball and were so well behaved!

Such a small thing of going to a park can bring so much joy, even to the big kids!

So today I'm grateful for a wonderful reward.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 85.

Tonight I had a Rainbow Lorikeet brought to me by a neighbour.

He couldn't fly, and she found him on our road.

I can't actually see anything wrong with him, but the fact that he can't fly is worrying.

With any animal that gets brought into the shelter, one of the most important things to do is to rehydrate, and my favourite solution to use is 'Lectade'.

If there is a chance of saving the animal, this stuff will have them looking brighter in minutes!

So today I'm grateful for this liquid gold.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 84.

Do you remember back on Day 65, I was surprised to find a flower stem on one of my plants out the front?

Well, look at it now!

It is covered in gorgeous individual cream flowers, and makes a real show piece!

I can't quite believe it still, because I didn't even know that these plants flowered.

So today I'm grateful for this beautiful flower display in my front garden.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 83.

About two years ago I started researching my family tree.

Boy, is it addictive!

Once I started I just couldn't stop!

I threw myself in head first, and soon I had so many names swirling around in my head, that I was getting confused about who was who.

Then I got a bit overwhelmed by it all, and put it down, and basically haven't touched it again, until last week.

Now I have a plan.

Instead of being all over the place with it, I have decided just to stick to one branch at a time.

That way, it should be a lot less confusing and overwhelming.

And I'm excited about it again!

So today I'm grateful for having time to spend on the family tree.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 82.

Today has been a really cool, overcast day.

It's quite refreshing actually, with the full on days of heat we've had lately.

But right on dinner time, the sun came out from in between some really dark clouds and it looked spectacular!

It gave everything a really beautiful glow.

So today I'm grateful to see some last minute sun at the end of the day.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 81.

Today we had the school cross country run, in conjunction with the 'Munch & Crunch Healthy Lunch' day.

So I spent the morning packing the lunches for the kids who ordered one.

All 178 of them!

Oh boy, am I buggered!

And that's putting it mildly!

So today I'm grateful for a nice hot shower, and a warm dressing gown, but I won't be far out of bed I can tell you!

Thursday 21 March 2013

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 80.

We are in the middle of a pretty intense storm here at the moment.

The wind is something else!

I was nearly blown completely off my feet when I was outside cleaning my cages a little while ago.

It's times like this that I'm always glad to be inside and away from the unpredictability.

So today I'm grateful that we're safe, warm and dry inside, away from the storm.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 79.

Today was the busiest day!

There was a million things to do around the house, as today was my only day at home for the week, so I was vacuuming, mopping and cleaning like a mad women!

On top of that, my hubby is away for work again, so tonight I was playing the single parent and getting the boys fed, showered, read books and into bed by myself.

Phew!

So tonight I'm grateful to finally put my feet up. I'm exhausted!

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 78.

Every Tuesday (and sometimes other days too), I help out at my boys school.

I am the School Banking Co-Ordinator and do the student banking every week, as well as helping with reading in the classroom when I can.

I love it.

It's nice to feel involved, and get to know all of the other kids as well.

I get the other kids asking me if I'm going to help today, and if they can read to me.

It's nice to feel appreciated!

If I worked full time out of the home, I wouldn't be able to do it, and that must be hard for a lot of the mum's who do work full time.

So today I'm grateful to be able to help out at my children's school.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 77.

This little man never ceases to amaze me, with the things he does.

Last night, after his shower, he got into his pyjamas and I put him into bed.

When I came to check him later, he had his t-shirt back on again!

It wasn't until he got up this morning that I discovered he had his pants back on as well!

He had slept fully dressed!

So today I'm grateful for a little man who always manages to make me laugh.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 76.

It hasn't been the best weekend, for a few reasons, so today it was good to be able to sit down and do some cross stitch.

I have almost finished this piece, which I have been working on for close to six years (not continuously).

Anyway, as I'm doing the final outlines, at night it is a bit hard to see, so I'm finding it easier to stitch during the day, but finding the time to stitch during the day is hard!

So today I'm grateful for finding a bit of stitching time.

Saturday 16 March 2013

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 75.

My son is mad about police cars!

Especially when they have the lights and siren going.

His Aide at school has been working on some issues with him, and as he has been working hard and improving, they decided as a treat to see if they could get a policeman (who was coming to talk to the Grade Fives and Sixes) to spend a few minutes with him.

Unfortunately, on the day it was supposed to happen, the policeman wasn't able to stay, but yesterday he came back especially to see him!

He took my son out to the police car and let him sit in it, talk on the radio, and best of all, let him turn on the lights and siren!

You can imagine how ecstatic he was!

He was also given the above show bag, with a heap of things in it such as a drink bottle, magazines, a little blue light as well as other bits and pieces.

He has barely put it down!

He carries it around pretending he's a policeman, going off to help people.

So today I'm grateful to Victoria Police and the lovely officer who made my son's year.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 74.

There are times when you can be having the worst day, and then the smallest little thing can happen to make the sun come out again.

That's exactly what finding this letter my 7 year old autistic son wrote to his fish has done!

The spelling leaves a little to be desired, but he is trying so hard and sounds everything out.

I'm so proud of him.

So today I'm grateful for this lovely little letter about a boy's love for his fish.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 73.

My youngest is in his first year of school, and today there was an opportunity for the parents to go into the classroom to spend the last half an hour with their child and see what they've been doing.

My little man was so excited to have me there!

Can you tell by the smile on his face?

He showed me what he can do on the computer, the work he's done in his work book, some cutting and pasting, and a book in the story corner.

I really enjoyed spending that time with him, and seeing how proud he is of all that he's done.

So today I'm grateful for some time with my little man in the classroom.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 72.

Tonight I went out for a girls night.

My sister, sister in law and I went out for a quick dinner and a movie.

We saw 'Safe Haven', and I really enjoyed it.

Definitely a chick flick, so perfect for a night with the chicks!

I'm loving the 'stunned mullett' look on my sister.

She really pulls it off! lol

So today, I'm grateful for a lovely night with the girls.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 71.

How long has it been since you've just stood and watched your children sleep?

For me it's been a little while.

I check them before I go to bed every night, but I haven't just stood there and watched them.

Watched how their eyes move under their eyelids.

And how they look so peaceful and calm.

But tonight I did just that.

I almost didn't want to move away.

So today, I'm so grateful for my beautiful kids.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 70.

It was a public holiday in Melbourne today...Labour Day.

It was great to be able to spend the day together as a family, especially as my hubby has been away for so long.

Tonight we decided to go out for dinner, as a bit of a celebration for us all being back together again.

So today, I'm grateful for time together as a family.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 69.

My hubby finally came home yesterday after nearly two weeks away in Brisbane for work.

It is such a relief to have him home again.

Both the boys and I missed him heaps!

Today he was wonderful at setting up labels on the computer for my new business, and tonight he has been sitting next to me on the couch, helping to stick them on!

What a gem!

So today I'm grateful for my hubby being home, and for all of the help he's giving me.

Saturday 9 March 2013

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 68.

It was another roasting hot day in Melbourne today.

Tonight I'm feeling really worn out, as the heat really seems to take it out of me.

So this glass of champagne couldn't come at a better time.

It is so cold, and I'm enjoying it immensely.

So today I'm grateful for a very cold, refreshing glass of bubbly.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 67.

I was surprised to be approached by Batman and Superman this morning!

They came flying over to me, and asked if they could do anything to help.

Then they took off, to go and find someone else to assist.

I don't know that they usually work together, but I'm so glad they chose to this morning.

So today I'm grateful for superheros!

Thursday 7 March 2013

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 66.

I know, I know, another nature photo!

But what am I supposed to do, when the day starts like this?

Such spectacular cloud, with all the colours of the morning sunrise.

I could have just stood there snapping it for ages, but unfortunately I had to get the boys ready for school.

And no doubt, on a day off, I wouldn't be up this early.

So today, I'm grateful for beautiful morning cloud.

Wednesday 6 March 2013

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 65.

I wasn't planning on taking a nature shot today, but then I noticed this huge flower stem coming out of one of my plants!

I don't quite understand how I haven't noticed it before now, as it's right outside my front window.

And to be honest, I hate these plants!

Not because I think they're ugly, or anything like that.

I really liked them them when I bought and planted them!

But I didn't realise that they would become so spiky on the ends when they grew.

They really are dangerous, especially with young children around, so it's only because I haven't got around to ripping them out yet, that they're still there.

But maybe for now, I'll wait until after it's finished flowering.

So today I'm grateful for this cool flower stem!

Tuesday 5 March 2013

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 64.

It is another beautiful sunny day today in Melbourne.

And another hot one as well.

I could do without the heat quite easily.

But I will never tire of seeing a sunrise on a beautiful, clear morning.

So today I'm grateful for another breathtaking sunrise.

Monday 4 March 2013

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 63.

I loved yesterdays nature shot, so today I decided to look for another one, seeing as it was such a lovely day to be outside.

I have no idea what these flowers are, but they popped up in my garden from out of nowhere!

The plant that they come from has strappy, stripy leaves, and would make a great photo in itself.

However, it is the lovely delicate flowers that have captured me this afternoon.

So today I am grateful for these beautiful flowers, whatever they are.

Tracey ♥

Sunday 3 March 2013

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 62.

I love taking nature photos.

Whether it's plants or animals, they are my favourite things to photograph. (Except for my kids of course, although they could also come under the animal category sometimes)!

These little gems are lining my front veranda, and with the return of sunny days, they really stand out.

The purple amongst the green is quite lovely!

I'm pretty sure they're called 'Liriopes'.

So today I'm grateful for these beautiful Liriope flowers putting on a show in my garden.

Saturday 2 March 2013

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 61.

When I can, I've been trying to get on top of the mess in this house, as I mentioned the other day.

One of the things I love about cleaning, is my Nature Direct natural cleaning products.

I know I'm cleaning and disinfecting my home from top to bottom, but without any of the harsh chemicals that could harm my family or pets.

Have you ever thought about what you're breathing in when you spray a cleaner on your benches, bathroom sinks etc?

Not to mention the residual chemicals that are left on the surface, to then come in contact with your skin or your family's skin?

I used to think about it all the time, and knew it couldn't possibly be good.

Then I heard of Nature Direct and I've never looked back.

I know that I can spray these liberally around my home and they are completely harmless to me and my family, but get rid of nasty germs and bacteria.

What more could you want?

So today I'm grateful for Nature Direct and their wonderful natural products.

365 Days Of Grateful - Day 60.

Tonight we had a birthday party to go to.

One of the cutest kids we know was turning seven, so our school week ended with a party dinner, and my boys couldn't have been happier about it!

I managed to get them into bed by 9pm, but the excitement was still shining in their faces.

So today I'm grateful for birthday parties, and for the fun had by all.
